Dear AAAI San Francisco Bay Area Members,

AAAI is delighted to announce the launch of a series of Member Events
in different regions. The events are free to all AAAI members.
Nonmembers can attend by purchasing tickets online or at the door.
AAAI Member Events provide a venue for local AAAI members and others
interested in artificial intelligence to get together for an evening
of lively discussion and networking.

Following a reception at 7:00 PM, Sebastian Thrun (Stanford)
(http://robots.stanfor...) and Red Whittaker (CMU)
(http://www.frc.ri.cmu...) will present their visions on
the future of autonomous robots. Sebastian and Red and their
respective teams faced off with one another on the DARPA Grand
Challenge and the DARPA Urban Challenge, with Sebastian's Stanford
Racing Team winning the Grand Challenge and Red's Tartan Racing Team,
winning the Urban Challenge. Following short talks by Sebastian and
Red, Eric Horvitz (http://research.micro..., will
moderate a discussion and field questions.

they are not current members of AAAI. Nonmembers are welcome to
attend for $12.00 or can join AAAI in advance or at the door to
